Light Spring Color Palette

Short answer

Light Spring (sometimes called Warm Light) is one of the 12 seasons in seasonal color analysis. Light Spring coloring is delicate and warm-leaning, with low overall depth. Light, clear colors with a touch of warmth — peach, light aqua, buttercream — tend to look fresh, while heavy darks can overpower.

01 — Character

Light Spring at a glance

Light Spring is the lightest corner of the warm side. Think of morning light through a linen curtain: hair, skin and eyes sit close together in depth, so the overall impression is luminous rather than striking. Colors work best when they keep that lightness and add a little warmth and clarity — peach rather than terracotta, light aqua rather than teal.

Contrast

Contrast is low to medium. A head-to-toe look built from one or two light tones with a single clear accent usually reads more polished than strong light–dark blocking.

Deciding trait

Light

Depth decides first. Light Spring sits at the light end of the scale, so its colors stay airy enough never to overpower your features; its Spring roots add a warm lean.

Instead of black, try light warm navy, milk chocolate or soft taupe.

Test one variable at a time: your palette white against pure white and cream first, then black against charcoal, deep brown or navy. These are starting points, not bans.

Start with gold

Light, polished gold and rose gold; delicate pieces over chunky ones.

Finish

Polished, mirror shine — echoes clear coloring.

10 — Common misreads

Four things that make Light Spring look like something else

01

Hair dye

Ash or platinum toner can make Light Spring read as Light Summer. Compare drapes against your natural roots, or with your hair wrapped in a neutral towel.

02

Lighting

Cool LED or overcast light flattens peach and coral. Check the palette near a window in indirect daylight before deciding the warm side “doesn’t work”.

03

Tanning

A summer tan deepens the skin and can push you toward True Spring for a few months; the light, delicate base usually returns by winter.

04

Makeup

Heavy bronzer or a dark lip can make light colors look washed out by comparison. Test drapes bare-faced, then add makeup in the palette’s peach and coral range.

11 — Colors to skip near the face

What may look heavy near your face

Heavy black, deep burgundy and dusty, greyed tones can look dull next to the face.

If you love one of these, wear it below the waist, or put a palette color at the neckline.

Looking “tired” in a color is a visual effect of contrast and reflected light, not a health signal.
