Acceptable Use Policy

Face & Color content standards: prohibited content, how prompts, photos and generated images are checked, how to report content, enforcement and appeals.

Last updated: 2026-10-29

Face & Color (“Face & Color”, “we”, “us”) provides tools and AI features that analyze a selfie and generate hairstyle, hair color and makeup try-ons. This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) applies to everything uploaded, typed, generated or stored through faceandcolor.com, and sets out our content standards, how we check content, how to report it and how we enforce these rules. By using Face & Color you agree to this Policy, which forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Scope

This Policy covers every kind of content on Face & Color, whatever its format:

  • Text — anything you type into an AI feature (today’s AI features use a fixed menu of looks, so this applies if typed requests are added).
  • Uploaded photos — the photos you submit for analysis or try-ons.
  • Generated content — try-on images, analyses and reports the Service creates for you.
  • Support messages — tickets and emails you send us, including attachments.

2. Prohibited content

Face & Color is for adults (18+) and for photos of yourself. You may not upload, request, create or share any of the following:

  1. Pornography / NSFW content — nudity, sexual or sexually suggestive imagery of any kind, including implied nudity, “undressing” edits, lingerie or swimwear edits made to sexualize someone, and fetish content.
  2. Violence / gore — graphic violence, blood and injuries, torture, mutilation, and content that glorifies or encourages violence, self-harm or suicide.
  3. Hate speech — hate symbols, extremist insignia and slogans, slurs, and content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or another protected trait.
  4. Child-unsafe content — any photo of a minor (the Service is for adults only), any sexual content involving minors, and any content that sexualizes or endangers children.
  5. Deepfakes / impersonation — photos of another person without their consent, content that impersonates a real person, brand or organization, and content that uses a real person’s likeness to mislead people about whether an image is real. This includes non-consensual intimate imagery.
  6. Copyright / trademark infringement — photos, characters, logos and other works you don’t have the rights to use, such as celebrity photos or a photographer’s work taken from the internet.
  7. Illegal content — anything illegal where you live or where we operate, and content that is defamatory, harassing or fraudulent.

2.1 Zero tolerance

The following lead to immediate account closure and may be reported to the authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where required by law:

  • Child sexual abuse material or any sexual content involving minors.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery of real people, including sexual deepfakes.
  • Content that promotes or facilitates terrorism, violent extremism or mass violence.

2.2 Other prohibited conduct

  • Trying to get around our checks — for example with misspellings, coded words, cropping or “jailbreak” instructions.
  • Automated or bulk use of the Service, reselling access, or using the Service’s outputs to train, fine-tune or benchmark competing AI models.
  • Uploading photos of people who haven’t agreed to it.

3. How we moderate

Every AI request passes through automated checks, in an order that stops a prohibited request as early as possible — before anything is generated or charged.

3.1 Automated checks

  • Text check, first — any text you type into an AI feature is screened by an AI safety check against the categories in Section 2 before anything else happens. Flagged text is not processed: no photo is checked, nothing is generated and nothing is charged.
  • Photo check, before processing — every photo is screened by an automated NSFW image classifier before it is stored or sent to an AI model. A second automated check confirms the photo shows exactly one real adult face and nothing sexually suggestive; photos that appear to show a minor or more than one person are refused. A refused photo is not processed and no credits are used.
  • Output check, before delivery — every generated image is screened by the NSFW classifier again before it is shown to you or saved. If an image is flagged, it is withheld and its credits are returned.
  • Fail closed — if a check can’t run, the request is stopped rather than let through, and nothing is charged.

The image checks look for sexual and explicit content, minors and multiple people. Other prohibited content, such as gore or hate symbols, is handled through reports and human review (Section 3.2).

3.2 Human review

  • Blocked requests are logged so we can review patterns and repeated attempts.
  • Every report is reviewed by a person before any action beyond the automatic steps is taken.
  • Photos and try-ons are private to the account that created them; we don’t publish user content in any public gallery, and photos and generated images are deleted from our systems within 24 hours.

3.3 Severity levels

  • L1 — Critical (child safety, non-consensual intimate imagery, terrorism): account closed; reported where required.
  • L2 — High (sexual content, graphic violence, hate speech, deepfakes or impersonation): blocked automatically or removed; account suspended.
  • L3 — Medium (copyright or trademark issues, attempts to get around our checks): blocked or removed; warning.
  • L4 — Low (borderline content reported by users): reviewed; removed if it breaks this Policy.

4. Reporting

If you come across content made with Face & Color that breaks this Policy — for example an image shared elsewhere, anything involving a minor, or an image that uses your likeness or infringes your rights — please report it:

  • Email — send support@faceandcolor.com the image or a link to it and a short description of the problem, with “Content report” in the subject line.
  • Support ticket — signed-in users can also open a ticket from Settings → Support Tickets.

We keep the identity of people who report confidential, review every report on its merits, and act on reports that are deliberately false or abusive.

5. Response times

  • L1 — Critical: first response and action within 24 hours.
  • L2 — High: first response within 2 business days, resolution within 5 business days.
  • L3 / L4: first response within 5 business days, resolution within 10 business days.

6. Enforcement

Depending on how serious a violation is and whether it is repeated, we may:

  1. Block the request — the text, photo or result is rejected and no credits are used.
  2. Remove content — delete photos, try-ons and reports from the account.
  3. Suspend or close the account — temporarily or permanently; for serious violations remaining credits are forfeited and paid amounts are not refunded, as set out in Section 13 of our Terms of Service.
  4. Report to authorities — for zero-tolerance violations, and cooperate with lawful investigations.

7. Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, email support@faceandcolor.com within 30 days of the decision with your account email and what happened. We’ll review the decision again, including any new information you send, within 10 business days and reply with the outcome.

8. Changes to this Policy

We update this Policy as our tools and the law change. We’ll post the new version here with a new date and announce material changes on the site at least 15 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Face & Color after that means you accept the updated Policy.
