Echo or contrast?

Contrast is the classic rule — angular frames on soft faces, curves on angular ones. Echoing works just as well when you want to emphasize your features: round frames on a round face read playful and deliberate. These are directions, not rules.

02

Visual weight

Dark, thick frames read strong; light, thin frames read light. Clear and champagne frames almost disappear. If you want glasses to be the statement, go thicker and darker; for everyday low-key, go thinner and closer to your hair or skin color.

Fit checklist

  • Temples don’t pinch your head or flare outward.
  • Nose pads don’t slide; frames don’t rest on your cheeks when you smile.
  • Your eyes sit near the center of each lens.
  • Prescription and lens needs come first.
