Eye-angle measurement

Canthal Tilt: measure your eye angle, on your device

Canthal tilt is the angle from the inner to the outer corner of each eye. The tool levels your eye line, then reports left and right angles in degrees — positive, neutral or negative are all normal variations.

Positive, neutral, negative

ReadingWhat it meansStyle notes
Positive (> +2°)Outer corner slightly higher than innerStraight liner keeps it balanced; winged liner amplifies the lift
Neutral (−2° to +2°)Corners roughly levelMost liner and frame shapes read as intended
Negative (< −2°)Outer corner slightly lower than innerA slightly lifted outer liner or upswept frame lifts the line if you want it

Measure it accurately

  • Camera at eye level; look straight into the lens.
  • Keep your head level — don’t tilt your chin.
  • Relax your face; smiling lifts the outer corners.
  • Compare two photos; the average is more stable than one.

A neutral view

Online, eye angle is often framed as good or bad. We don’t. It’s one of many natural variations across people and ancestries, and it says nothing about attractiveness. Use the measurement as a styling input — for liner direction or frame choice — if it’s useful to you.
