What research says

A 3D facial measurement study found no matching relationship between the ratios it examined and attractiveness, and most of those ratios weren’t close to 1.618. A single “golden ratio score” is not a reliable beauty standard.

Where measurements do help

  • Face length (hairline to chin) → whether bangs are worth trying: they hide part of the forehead and shorten the face visually.
  • Length vs width → whether side volume or crown lift balances your goal.
  • Eye spacing → frame bridge width and lens size.
